What is a Qualified Charitable Distribution (QCD)?
A Qualified Charitable Distribution (QCD) is a tax-efficient way for donors over the age of 70 ½ to make a gift directly from their IRA (other than a SEP or SIMPLE IRA) to a qualified charitable organization, such as The Core Collective at Saint Vincent. The benefits of making a QCD include lowering your taxable income and satisfying your Required Minimum Distribution, or RMD, for the year. If you are required to take a minimum distribution form your IRA, but do not need it for daily expenses, QCDs may be right for you! Speak with your tax advisor for more information pertaining to your situation.
Visit IRS.Gov to learn more about QCDS.
Interested in making a QCD to The Core Collective? Contact Chief Development Officer, Gloria Ratliff, at 636-435-7299 or via email at gratliff@theccstl.org
$1000 can support and maintain our 22 acres of land and facilities that have served as a community asset for over a century. This includes maintaining the spaces that youth enrolled in the Transitional Living Programs call home, as well as The Hub, a safe place for community youth to access case management, laundry services, food, and more.
$500 can help house one youth ages 16-22 for roughly five days as they build emotional resilience and life skills to transition successfully into adulthood as part of the Transitional Living Program.
$250 may provide two individual and family counseling sessions via the Community-Based Services program, available to youth ages 6-19, whether they’re on our campus or in our neighborhood.
$100 meets the basic needs of the youth that come to The CC, including providing food, clothing, school supplies, hygiene items, etc.
$50 is roughly equivalent to the cost of purchasing a school uniform for one youth (when applicable).
$25 may support one month of transportation to a youth’s school or work provided by The CC.
