Volunteers, Staff, and Youth Plant 40 Trees
In commemoration of the 55th anniversary of Earth Day, The Core Collective hosted a tree-planting celebration. Volunteers, staff, and youth planted forty (40) trees on the agency’s 22-acres of land. This community-driven initiative was conducted in partnership with the US Department of Forestry, the Missouri Department of Conservation’s Community Forestry Cost Share Program, and Beyond Housing, who also provided an arborist to assist with tree selection.
According to the Arbor Day Foundation, in addition to beautification, trees play a critical role in creating healthier, safer, and more connected communities. This collaborative effort ensures that our community continues to reap the numerous benefits provided by trees, including mitigating stormwater impacts, purifying our air, and enhancing the aesthetic appeal of Normandy and The Core Collection.
We’d like to give a huge thank you to our partners at the US Department of Forestry, the Missouri Department of Conservation, and Beyond Housing for helping to make our community a healthier and more beautiful place to live.
