The Core Collective and Laurence Maroney: Championing Youth Athlete Mental Health

In a groundbreaking collaboration, The Core Collective (The CC) has joined forces with Laurence Maroney and the LM39 Foundation to address a pressing issue that often goes unnoticed – the mental health of young athletes. With a shared vision of promoting the well-being of youth, this partnership aims to raise awareness, provide support, and create opportunities for young athletes to thrive both on and off the field.

NFL-Sponsored 6-Week Flag Football League: May 25th-July 6

At the heart of this collaboration is a six-week NFL-sponsored flag football league that provides a structured and supportive environment for young athletes to engage in athletic activities. This league not only offers an opportunity for participants to showcase their skills but also emphasizes the development of teamwork, sportsmanship, discipline, and resilience. Through friendly competition and guided mentorship, participants gain invaluable life lessons that extend beyond the realm of sports.

Raising Awareness and Breaking Stigma:

The partnership between The CC, Laurence Maroney, and the LM39 Foundation goes beyond the flag football league, as it is dedicated to fostering the holistic development of young athletes. Through a multifaceted approach, they address the mental, physical, and skill-building aspects of their well-being.

Mental Wellness: The partnership prioritizes mental health and provides resources and support to help young athletes navigate the challenges they may face. This includes promoting self-care, stress management techniques, and fostering a supportive community where open conversations about mental well-being are encouraged.

Physical Fitness: Recognizing the importance of physical fitness, the collaboration offers training programs, workshops, and coaching to enhance the athletic abilities of young athletes. These initiatives promote healthy habits, physical conditioning, and injury prevention, ensuring that participants can perform at their best.

Skill-Building and Values: This partnership is committed to equipping young athletes with essential life skills and values. Through workshops and mentorship, participants learn crucial skills such as effective communication, leadership, teamwork, and goal setting. By instilling these qualities, the partnership aims to empower young athletes to excel not only in sports but also in their personal and professional lives.

The collaboration between The CC and the LM39 Foundation aims to bring attention to youth athlete mental health, an issue that often remains overlooked. By shining a spotlight on this subject, the partnership endeavors to break the stigma surrounding mental health challenges in the sports community and normalize conversations about well-being. Through education, support, and community engagement, they hope to create a more compassionate and inclusive environment for young athletes to thrive.

The Core Collective, in partnership with Laurence Maroney and the LM39 Foundation, has taken a significant step forward in championing the mental health of young athletes. By organizing an NFL-sponsored flag football league and culminating with an athlete mental health field day, this collaboration is committed to creating awareness and providing resources to support the well-being of youth athletes. Together, they strive to foster a culture where mental health is prioritized, ensuring that young athletes have the tools and support they need to succeed both on and off the field.
